Nanjing Petroleum Transport has reportedly ordered four 115,000 dwt LR2/product tankers at Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, with delivery scheduled for 2029. Hellenic Shipping News, citing shipbroker Banchero Costa, reported the contracts as part of continued strong ordering across the product, crude and chemical tanker markets.

In the chemical tanker segment, Banchero Costa also linked Transocean Maritime to an order for two 50,000 dwt MR tankers at Guangzhou Shipyard International. Separately, Veritas Tankers reportedly contracted four 13,000 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers at Nantong Rainbow Offshore. The report provided no delivery dates for either of those orders.

Secondhand MR transactions featured prominently in a separate market account from shipbroker Xclusiv, also carried by Hellenic Shipping News. The 49,000 dwt Great Epsilon, built at New Times in 2020, was reported sold for around $49 million, with delivery in January 2027 forming part of the transaction terms.

Among older MR2 vessels, the 50,000 dwt Leon Wisdom, built by Hyundai Mipo in 2008, changed hands for $26.5 million, with clients of Wisdom identified as the buyers. Xclusiv also reported the sale of the 51,000 dwt LS Neptune, built at SPP in 2007, for $20.2 million. No buyer was identified for that vessel in the report.

Further MR sales included the 51,000 dwt Ocean Thalia, built at STX in 2004, at $15 million, and the ice-classed 46,000 dwt CSC Auspicious, built at Jinling in 2008, at $22 million. The 46,000 dwt Rose Makis, a 2005 Shin Kurushima-built tanker, was reported sold for $19 million on terms providing for delivery in Singapore.

Beyond the MR segment, Xclusiv reported that Greek buyers acquired the 75,000 dwt Panamax Albaro, built at Brodosplit in 2007, for $24.4 million. Smaller tanker transactions included the 29,000 dwt OM Borneo at $12 million and the 20,000 dwt FG Rotterdam at $24 million, with Chinese buyers taking the latter.
